Dave Saward - Mid Atlantic Soccer Camp Director.
Coach Saward has just completed his 25th year as the leader of the Nationally Renowned Middlebury College Panthers, and is regarded as one of the best soccer educators in the country.   He has led the team to 21 post-season appearances in 24 years, including five consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances ('94-'98).   The '07 season was a magical one for the Panthers, as they captured the program's first NCAA Championship. Saward, who is director of coaching for the State of Vermont and chair of the NCAA tournament committee for New England, is a Senior Staff Coach with the NSCAA National Coaching Staff. He is a certified soccer coach of both the British and Canadian Soccer associations and holds the NSCAA Advanced Coaching Diploma. Saward earned his bachelor's degree in education at the University of London and his master's at Springfield College.

The men’s soccer coach at Middlebury College since 1985, Saward served on the NSCAA Board of Directors for five years beginning in 1990. In 1995, he was appointed to the National Staff of the NSCAA’s Coaching Education program. A six-time NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year, he earned National Coach of the Year recognition when his team claimed the NCAA title in 2007. Vermont’s State Coaching Director since 1992, Saward was presented the New England Soccer Association’s Service Award in 1993.

Coach O’Neill has completed his seventh season as Head Coach of the men’s soccer program at Gettysburg.  Over the last seven seasons, the Bullets have advanced to the postseason five times. Under O’Neill’s tutelage, nine Bullets have been named all-region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, while 27 have been named All-Centennial Conference, including thirteen first-team selections. O’Neill holds a USSF “A” license along with an NSCAA Premier Diploma. He has extensive youth soccer experience including coaching stints with the North Carolina ODP Program and the Region III ODP Staff.  O’Neill is an Associate Member of the NSCAA Coaching Staff and instructs numerous non-residential coaching courses for the NSCAA in the central Pennsylvania area.

Camp Staff

Brett Kelly is about to begin his sixth season as the Assistant Coach of the Bullet men’s soccer program. A former team captain at Gettysburg, Kelly was an assistant at East Carolina from 2004-05.

Mark Brown is the former Head Coach at Dickinson College and played professionally in Scotland. He currently serves as the Head Coach for Penn State Harrisburg and has extensive experience coaching youth soccer.

Devin O’Neill is entering his seventh season as Head Coach of the men’s soccer program at Gettysburg. Over the last six seasons, the Bullets have accu-mulated a record of 60-39-14 and advanced to the postseason five times. Under O’Neill’s tute-lage, eight Bullets have been named all-region by the National Soccer Coaches As-sociation of America, while 23 have been named All-Centennial Conference, including a dozen first-team selections. O’Neill holds a USSF “A” license along with an NSCAA Premier Diploma. He has extensive youth soccer experience including coaching stints with the North Carolina ODP Program and the Region III ODP Staff.

Youth Camp Staff
The campers will have an exciting opportunity to be coached by current collegiate players as well as youth coaches that are experienced and successful in coach-ing young players.


Lady Pirates Girls' Soccer Camp

STAFF
The coaching staff is comprised of college, high school, and club coaches who have demonstrated
an ability to teach the principles of the game. The coach-to-camper ratio will not exceed 1:12.
College players will also serve as dorm counselors and assistant coaches.

Coach Donnenwirth just completed his 11th season at the helm of the women's soccer program at East Carolina University. He is the winningest coach in school history.  The 2008 season was Donnenwirth's most successful as he led ECU to the best overall record in program history at 14-4-4 and a share of the Conference USA Regular Season Championship. In 2008 the Pirates finished the C-USA season with a 7-0-4 mark.  That record setting year helped Donnenwirth receive his first C-USA Coach-of-the-Year award and was the Soccer Buzz Southeast Region Coach-of-the-Year runner-up.  As a player, Donnenwirth guided West Virginia Wesleyan College to back-to-back NAIA National Championships in 1984 and 1985 and was named a NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 1987 as a goalkeeper. He earned a B.S. in marketing from West Virginia Wesleyan in 1988 and his M.B.A. from James Madison in 1990.
